The hero must have

  • Courage
  • Speak the truth and pay attention to what other people don’t want to pay attention to.

He is the eternal redeemer.

These are ancient ideas (Mesopotamian)


Problems come in two forms:

  1. Obstacles which stand between us and getting what we are aiming for
  2. Anomalies and mysteries. – What does this mean for how I think? This is difficult. This is rather like the shark in Jaws (a Hero myth) where something that was irrelevant suddenly manifests and causes trauma. Events like these often present as mental illness, although it is often someone being overwhelmed by catastrophe. How big is the predator lurking outside?
