Message from Sermon on the Mount
In the sermon on the mount, Christ basically says "Set your sights on allegiance to God, its like whatever the highest value is, we will say, and act in a manner which is concordant with that, so that's your goal, then pay attention to the here and now. Your best strategy for the future. [1]
If The Things That You’re Doing Are Landing You in Hell, Stop!
If the things that you’re doing are landing you in hell, stop! Unless you want to be there. And you know if you think, all you have to do is think about your life over the last year. You can be certain that you can call to mind times when you would have rather’d that did not happen. And so the lesson from that is clear: don’t set up those conditions anymore. And by the same token, if you watch yourself you can tell when you’re where you want to be and I could say, well, if you’re where you want to be then that’s really the right place and all you should ever do is practice to be there. [2]

Doing the right thing is always an investment
The secret of life is "Do that little thing you know you should do". It's an interesting game.
If you don't manifest what is inside you, then your life falls apart to the extent that everything that can make you bitter, multiplies.
You can’t boss yourself around, because you have a nature, and your nature rebels.
Pushing yourself out against the world causes physiological changes to the body.
Human beings are pack animals; they need to pull against a weight.
Imitate the admirable.
Incremental improvement grows like compound interest.
[We must] struggle with all our soul, on behalf of the good.
Play the game of the seeker; that is the best game you can play.
You should play in such a way that other people invite you to come back and play again and again.
The future is made better by letting go of things in the present
The things you most need to know are the things that you least want to look at (otherwise you would have seen them before.
